Georgina Ropiha commenced her career as an apprentice chef at the former acclaimed Sydney restaurant Marque under the tutelage of Mark Best. In the kitchen she developed her natural flair for cooking and refined her eye for food presentation.
Changing tack she went on to work at Vogue Magazines assisting the Food Director Joan Campbell. This stellar opportunity was Georgina’s entree into the world of food publications. Here she gained exposure to food trends and honed her skills as a recipe writer. However, it was on shoot days that she discovered her deep passion for food styling.
After Vogue magazines Georgina became the Deputy Food Editor of Family Circle magazine and then Online Food Editor of Weight Watchers Australia where she wrote, re-purposed and styled recipes.
Georgina has been food styling for almost two decades. During this time she has developed an extensive and very intuitive understanding of food and a naturally good eye for composition. Her strong work ethic and ability to relate well with others makes her a valued and accomplished stylist.
“She totally gets food and knows how to make it look fabulous.”
